Lightroom 4.4 Release Candidate Now Available

If you’re a brave soul and don’t mind playing with beta software, Lightroom 4.4 Release Candidate is now available for you.

This release has support for more camera and lens profiles and some bug fixes.

Remember, this is not a final release.  It’s a sneak-peak into something that’s coming out a bit later.

Are you starting to favor LR over Aperture for post processing and DAM?

I definitely favor Aperture as a DAM. The things that I like about Lightroom are also in Camera RAW, so I’ll export from Aperture and use those features in ACR when I need them. For instance, I really like the 32-bit TIFF that you can create using ACR/Lightroom and Photoshop HDR Pro.

Lightroom has a lot of cool things going for it, but I come back to the same thing. What is the killer feature that is worth the work of transitioning from one DAM to another? In my view, it isn’t there yet.

Thanks for the straight-up answer — always appreciated. I’ve been dealing with a few friends who wonder why I keep going back to Aperture — its projects based workflow fits better for me.…plus with having an iPad/iPnone and Apple TV, it makes more sense. Thanx!
